Assistant Director of Nursing Services (ADNS) at Saint John Paul II
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Assistant Director of Nursing Services (ADNS/ ADON) to join our team at Saint John Paul II in Danbury, Connecticut. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high‑quality patient care, overseeing nursing services, and promoting a positive work environment. The Assistant Director of Nursing Services is a critical position that requires a strong leader who can coordinate and direct nursing services to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Assist the Director of Nursing in coordinating all nursing services, including staffing, scheduling, and budgeting
- Serve as liaison between the Director of Nursing and other facility departments
- Ensure compliance with nursing standards, policies, and procedures
- Conduct regular rounds to monitor quality of care and identify areas for improvement
- Evaluate performance of nursing staff and provide coaching and mentoring as needed
- Develop and implement educational programs for nursing staff
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of care
- Participate in facility‑wide committees and meetings as necessary
- Document disciplinary actions for nursing assistants on designated shifts
- Work with minimum of supervision
- Discuss any problems, needs, or concerns with the Director of Nursing
- Attend in‑service educational classes and on‑the‑job training programs as directed
- 2+ years of experience in a nursing leadership role
- Certificate in a relevant field (such as Nursing Administration or Healthcare Administration)
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
