Assistant Director of Nursing Services (ADNS) at Saint John Paul II

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Assistant Director of Nursing Services (ADNS/ ADON) to join our team at Saint John Paul II in Danbury, Connecticut. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high‑quality patient care, overseeing nursing services, and promoting a positive work environment. The Assistant Director of Nursing Services is a critical position that requires a strong leader who can coordinate and direct nursing services to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director of Nursing in coordinating all nursing services, including staffing, scheduling, and budgeting
  • Serve as liaison between the Director of Nursing and other facility departments
  • Ensure compliance with nursing standards, policies, and procedures
  • Conduct regular rounds to monitor quality of care and identify areas for improvement
  • Evaluate performance of nursing staff and provide coaching and mentoring as needed
  • Develop and implement educational programs for nursing staff
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of care
  • Participate in facility‑wide committees and meetings as necessary
  • Document disciplinary actions for nursing assistants on designated shifts
Expectations
  • Work with minimum of supervision
  • Discuss any problems, needs, or concerns with the Director of Nursing
  • Attend in‑service educational classes and on‑the‑job training programs as directed
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in a nursing leadership role
  • Certificate in a relevant field (such as Nursing Administration or Healthcare Administration)
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
