About This Role

The Registered Nurse (RN) Med/Oncology position involves providing comprehensive patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role is ideal for nurses with a strong background in oncology and a commitment to patient-centered care.

What You'll Do
  • Assess the patient's physiologic health status.
  • Conduct patient interviews and explain policies and procedures.
  • Assess gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, and neurological health status.
  • Determine mobility, sensory deficits, and skin condition.
  • Communicate and document patient's physiologic health status and plan of care.
  • Assess patient's psychosocial health status.
  • Elicit perception of medical/nursing care and expectations.
  • Develop criteria for measurement of patient outcomes.
  • Formulate the plan of care and establish priorities.
  • Implement the plan of care and maintain patient safety.
  • Administer medications correctly and safely.
  • Participate in patient and family education.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of professional nursing experience in the related specialty.
  • Licenses &

    Certifications:

    Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State and/or Connecticut required. BLS certification required. Chemotherapy Administration certification preferred. ACLS certification required.
