Altura Medical Associates, in collaboration with Mar Y Sol Mental Health Experts, is seeking an experienced Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) to join our growing multidisciplinary practice.

We are also willing to consider an experienced
Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) or
Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with significant clinical experience treating women with perimenopause, menopause, and hormone replacement therapy (HRT).

This position focuses on helping women improve their health and quality of life through evidence-based hormone management. The provider will evaluate, diagnose, and treat women experiencing hormonal changes associated with perimenopause and menopause. This is not a traditional gynecology practice; however, the provider should be comfortable performing routine women's health examinations, including pelvic examinations and Pap tests, when clinically indicated.

We are looking for a compassionate, knowledgeable clinician who is confident practicing independently while collaborating within a physician-led multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive evaluations for women experiencing perimenopause and menopause.
  • Diagnose and manage symptoms related to hormonal changes, including hot flashes, night sweats, fatigue, sleep disturbances, mood changes, weight gain, decreased libido, vaginal dryness, cognitive changes, and genitourinary syndrome of menopause.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based hormone replacement therapy (HRT).
  • Prescribe and manage estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and other hormone therapies as clinically appropriate.
  • Order, interpret, and monitor laboratory testing related to hormonal health.
  • Adjust treatment plans based on patient symptoms, laboratory findings, and treatment response.
  • Provide education regarding hormone therapy, nutrition, exercise, sleep, bone health, cardiovascular health, and healthy aging.
  • Perform routine women's health examinations, including pelvic examinations and Pap tests, when clinically indicated.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Work independently while collaborating with physicians and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications
  • Active Connecticut APRN license with prescriptive authority.
  • Board certification as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) preferred.
  • Experienced Family Nurse Practitioners (FNPs) or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioners (AGNPs) with substantial women's hormone management experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Minimum of two years of experience evaluating and treating women with perimenopause and menopause.
  • Experience prescribing and managing hormone replacement therapy (HRT/BHRT).
  • Comfortable interpreting hormone laboratory studies and developing individualized treatment plans.
  • Comfortable performing routine pelvic examinations and Pap tests when clinically indicated.
  • Excellent communication, patient education, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with strong clinical judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), including pellets, injections, creams, patches, or oral hormone therapy.
  • Experience in women's health, menopause management, preventive medicine, or lifestyle medicine.
  • Passion for helping women optimize their health during midlife and beyond.
