Skilled Carpenter - Facilities

Job Overview

Plant Services Carpenter performs general carpentry assignments such as, but not limited to:

• Repair/replacement of doors and walls
• Installation of ceilings and replacement of tiles
• Fire caulking penetrations
• Railing repairs
• Flooring projects
• Install/replacement of stair treads
• Window repairs
• Locksmith services
• Installation of LKM & CDX locking devices
• Installation of shelving
• Repair/replacement of bathroom partitions
• Hanging of Christmas wreaths, pictures, banners, white boards, bulleting/cork boards
• AED medical heart devices
• Signs
• Cutting of tree limbs with a chain saw
• Demolition and renovation projects
• Working with sketches and drawings and carpentry related preps for Christening ceremonies.

• High school diploma or GED or 2 years of related technical experience
• 5+ years of carpentry experience

• 1+ years of commercial construction experience

• Being a self-starter and capable of working alone with minimal supervision

• Working in hot and cold environment conditions
• Experience in operating power shop tools to include: table saws, drill press, jointer, planner, radial alarm saw, etc.
• Capable of reading and interpreting blue print drawings
• Knowledge of carpentry and related building codes
• Willingness to work daily and weekend overtime in support of special projects
• Knowledge of flooring project installations
• Knowledge of basic computer skills
• Locksmith service knowledge
• JLG qualifications
