Job Overview

The effective and successful Electrical Journeyperson is committed to diversifying their craft by continuing to increase their knowledge of the trade and improve their skillset and efficiencies. The Electrical Journeyperson is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing various electrical components including wiring, panels, light fixtures, generators, solar arrays, etc.

Essential Traits for Success
  • Perform general labor and clean-up as requested, or as needed
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, measuring devices, etc.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for repair to ensure compatibility and safety
  • Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, aerial lifts, wire tuggers, drills, and electrical hand tools.
  • Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, or equipment
  • Pull wire, place conduit, pipes or tubing, inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed or open areas
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit and moving and lifting large parcels, or electrical equipment.
  • Receive, properly store job site materials for effective job site coordination
Qualifications & Skills
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and able to consistently follow written processes and procedures
  • Excellent mathematical skills are preferred
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Ability to stand, lift, maneuver weights that may exceed 50lbs.
  • Strong verbal communication skills
Education, Licensing & Experience Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Active CT Unlimited Electrical Journeyperson (E2) License
  • Current OSHA 10 Certification is preferred
  • Active Driver’s License with reliable transportation.
