EdAdvance is one of Connecticut's six Regional Educational Service Centers (RESCs). EdAdvance is also a partner in the RESC Alliance and works collaboratively with the other RESC groups to support state‑wide initiatives.

Direct Support Professional – Up to 37.5 hours/week; part-time schedule options available based on candidate availability and program needs.
Locations: Danbury, Ridgefield, Brookfield, and New Milford, CT

Pay Rate: $17.25 per hour

What You'll Do
  • Support individuals in achieving their personal goals at home, at work, and in the community
  • Help build independence through daily living skills, financial literacy, and social development
  • Assist individuals at volunteer or job sites while promoting confidence and positive work habits
  • Plan fun, engaging, and meaningful community activities
  • Provide safe and reliable transportation to programs, jobs, and appointments
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment
  • Document progress and communicate effectively with team members, families, and partners

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required (Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred)
  • Valid Connecticut driver's license with reliable transportation and active auto insurance
  • Willingness to transport individuals (mileage reimbursement may apply, if applicable)
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs. and assisting individuals as needed
  • Ability to perform physical interventions (training provided)
