Class B Front Load Truck Driver

Overview

Interstate Waste Services is hiring CDL B Front Load Truck Drivers.

Safety is our first priority.

Pay range: $25.00 to $32.00 per hour.

Dispatch location:
Danbury, CT.

Schedule:

Monday–Friday with occasional Saturdays.

Front-load garbage truck experience required; minimum 1 year CDL driving experience.

• Operate front, side, or rear-loading trucks safely for pick‑up of waste or recyclable material.
• Transport material to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities and make multiple trips per shift.
• Deploy both manual and automatic trucks.
• Repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds and maneuver up to 100 pounds, and mount/dismount the truck multiple times per route.

• At least 21 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Valid Class A or B CDL.
• Airbrake endorsement.
• Minimum 1‑year CDL driving experience in the past 7 years.
• Excellent safety record and clean motor vehicle record.
• Preferred: experience as a driver or helper for a refuse company.
• Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and applicable traffic regulations.
• Good spoken and written English, ability to read maps, understand traffic signals, and complete reports.
• Ability to meet physical and safety requirements of the position.
• Willing to work required hours, including weekends, nights, and holidays.

• Routes may involve congested communities and confined or tight areas.
• High skill in backing maneuvers required.
• Frequent climbing in and out of truck cab to service customers.
• Pre and post‑inspection of the truck mandatory to ensure compliance with safety standards, OSHA, DOT regulations, and local traffic laws.
• Other duties as assigned.
