Material Handler II
The RoleOur Danbury, CT facility is seeking a Material Handler II to join the Production team on the 2nd Shift (12PM-8:30PM). The position is responsible for receipt, inspection, and warehousing of returned product cylinders, as well as activities related to shipping, receiving, and inventory management. The role will contribute to meeting customer delivery requirements and to process improvements and cost effectiveness within warehouse and inventory management.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Safely manage incoming return gas cylinder fleet (inspection, warehousing)
- Manage the Caerus coating outbound process to ensure efficient and accurate execution.
- Administer customer portals to support order visibility and documentation requirements.
- Coordinate with material handlers to support CDC activities and material flow.
- Work closely with other Logistics members internally and external 3PL partners to monitor inbound cylinder returns from other regions.
- Assist with the unloading of trucks containing incoming raw materials.
- Safely stack and unstack large quantities of goods onto shelves or pallets.
- Ensure that forklift driving areas are free from spills or obstructions.
- Regularly check forklift equipment for faults or damages.
- Perform receiving transactions for direct and indirect products.
- Manage Source Gas Fleet through its entire process.
- Print and initiate production orders to meet business needs.
- Issue materials for production orders, rework orders, etc.
- Kit finished and semi‑finished goods as operational tempo requires, utilizing a combination of packaging materials and instructions with a high degree of accuracy.
- Perform QN‑initiated material movements.
- Perform scrap transactions and submit blanket MRB IAAF forms.
- Support Logistics with Export Hazmat and Non‑Hazmat outbound shipments.
- Use Fork Truck and ladders safely and effectively to support daily company and department objectives.
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2‑3 years of logistical experience in a high‑volume manufacturing/operations environment.
- Basic knowledge of domestic and international shipping methods.
- Previous experience in receipt of incoming goods and returned materials.
- ERP system experience.
- MS Word and Excel knowledge.
- Forklift truck experience.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to work fully on site.
- SAP experience
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Compensation: $20.00 to $25.00 per hour with actual pay dependent on candidate
