A well-established and growing specialty finance company is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its close-knit finance team. This is a highly visible role that offers broad exposure across accounting, finance, operations, and executive leadership. Reporting directly to the Controller and CFO, the Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting financial reporting, month-end close, audit activities, and business operations while helping drive process improvements across the organization.

What You’ll Do- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Maintain and analyze key accounting records, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger accounts
- Prepare account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure financial accuracy
- Assist with annual audits and various tax-related matters, including corporate, sales, property, and income tax support
- Create, maintain, and present data‑intensive reports and financial analyses for management
- Serve as a key finance contact for customer agreements and support external communications related to financial matters
- Partner closely with the Controller and CFO on financial reporting, operational initiatives, and strategic projects
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and help strengthen internal controls and reporting capabilities
- Support ad hoc projects and special analyses as the business continues to grow
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Public accounting experience is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of month‑end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets
- Experience with Quick Books or similar accounting systems
- Exposure to lending, leasing, financial services, or asset‑based businesses is a plus
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with employees, customers, and senior leadership
- Self‑starter who takes ownership and enjoys working independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Direct exposure to both the Controller and CFO
