Position: Medical Receptionist-- VARDC5751113

Contract: 13-week (extension and perm possibility)

Shift: Monday–Friday | 40 hrs/week | (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)

Job Summary:

A leading healthcare organization is seeking a Receptionist to support administrative and front-desk operations at a behavioral health detoxification facility. This role is responsible for creating a welcoming environment, coordinating communication, and ensuring smooth office workflow while supporting both staff and patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Answer and manage multi-line switchboard, route calls, and take messages.
  • Greet clients and visitors, notify staff of arrivals, and maintain reception area.
  • Process client admissions, disenrollments, and documentation.
  • Coordinate appointments and perform follow-up calls with patients as needed.
  • Maintain and log medical records, including EMR documentation and incident logs.
  • Notify clinical staff regarding medication deliveries requiring immediate attention.
  • Monitor waiting area and elevate concerns to clinical leadership when necessary.
  • Support general clerical tasks including typing, filing, and correspondence.
  • Assist with client drop-off procedures following facility protocols.
  • Provide additional administrative or support duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 6 months of related administrative or customer service experience (healthcare preferred).
  • Ability to work sensitively with individuals receiving substance abuse treatment.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in a healthcare setting.
  • Comfortable working in a multicultural environment with a strong customer service focus.
