Position: Part-Time Assessment Assistant, Center for Alternative Studies

Overview

Part-Time Assessment Assistant, Center for Alternative Studies. Salary: $36.55/hr; non-benefited, MCCC unit position.

Location:

Lynn/Danvers, MA. Campus locations:
Lynn and Danvers.

Work Schedule:

1-7pm Wednesday (Danvers), 1-7pm Thursday (Lynn), 12-5pm Friday (Danvers), one (two during peak times) Saturday per month (Lynn/Remote).

Responsibilities
  • Administer and proctor computerized placement examinations to new and returning students, interpret placement scores, and determine course placement and recommendations based on test scores.
  • Administer and proctor other tests as needed (e.g., faculty course testing, HiSET).
  • Enter data into the Banner system (e.g., test scores) and perform general data management.
  • Work with testing platforms such as Exam Soft, Pearson, ATI.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to department activities (e.g., downloading rosters, checking students in/out of testing).
  • Support department operations with miscellaneous tasks (e.g., assisting with CLEP registrations).
  • Interact with students, faculty, advisors, and other departments; answer questions regarding testing.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, or closely related field.
  • One year of experience and/or training involving computerized test administration, computer program manipulation, or computer operations in an academic environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Technical proficiency; experience with Banner preferred.
  • Successful experience interacting with culturally diverse populations.
  • Candidates must pass a CORI/SORI and/or a National background check as a condition of employment.
