North Shore Mazda and Wellesley Mazda — part of the Shaker Auto Group family — are hiring full-time Flat-Rate Technicians, and we'll get right to why this one's worth a second look: our shop runs on less than 15% warranty work. The rest is customer-pay and get-ready work on our high-volume pre-owned inventory — which means more billable hours, more consistent flag time, and more money in your pocket at the end of the week.
What We Offer- Full-time schedule, 8-hour shifts
- 401(k)
- Health insurance
- Life insurance
- Paid time off
- Employee discount
- Low warranty load. Under 15% of our RO volume — the rest is customer-pay, which pays better and keeps your flat-rate hours moving.
- Never a slow bay. As a high-volume used car dealer, we're constantly loading the shop with get-ready ROs to get pre-owned inventory front-line-ready.
- Real tenure, real proof. Our Service Director has been here 22 years. Our Parts Director, 22 years. Technicians on our current team have been with us 8, 10, and 12 years. We'll connect you directly with current techs so you can ask them yourself before you decide.
- Diagnose and repair vehicle systems (engine, transmission, brakes, electrical, and more) per manufacturer standards
- Perform routine maintenance and get-ready service on pre-owned inventory
- Complete repair orders efficiently to maximize flat-rate flag hours
- Communicate clearly with service advisors on diagnoses, timelines, and parts needs
- Keep accurate documentation of work performed
- Maintain a clean, organized, safety-compliant bay
- Experience as an automotive flat-rate technician (ASE certification a plus)

- Valid driver's license (required)
- Strong diagnostic skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume shop
Shaker Auto Group has been in business for nearly a century — starting with our grandfather's repair shop near a local farmer's market in Waterbury, CT, and growing into six dealerships and eight brands across Connecticut and Massachusetts. Every location runs on the same principle: transparency, in how we sell, service, and treat our people.
If you're a flat-rate technician who wants your hours to actually count, we'd love to talk.
