Role Overview
Senior Benefits Consultant – Primary focus on retaining existing clients and managing their book of business. Oversees strategy, financial analysis, benefit design, plan renewals, benchmarking, and overall service delivery. Communicates One Digital’s value proposition and industry trends to active clients.
Responsibilities- Develop sophisticated benefit design and renewal strategies; drive solutions for complex client issues.
- Work closely with account management and client service teams on pre‑renewal strategy, RFP distribution, SPRs, open enrollment strategy, and post‑renewal analysis.
- Define scope of services for each client and establish clear timelines with service teams.
- Maintain accountability for revenue and profitability of client accounts and projects.
- Monitor project success in scope, budget, timeliness, and client satisfaction.
- Oversee onboarding of new clients by collaborating with service teams to set implementation plans and timelines.
- Ensure client service teams exceed client expectations.
- Grow book of business through cross‑selling opportunities.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients and carriers.
- Establish effective carrier/vendor relationships for procurement and administration.
- Attend carrier events to stay current on plans and changes, and maintain relationships.
- Maintain full understanding of insurance markets, funding alternatives, networks, and benefit plan options.
- Ensure accuracy of client data in CRM.
- Stay up to date on compliance issues governed by legislation and regulations (HIPAA, ERISA, Tax Code, SEC 125, PPACA, state exchanges).
- 7+ years’ benefits consulting experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Valid life and health insurance license required.
- In-depth knowledge of Health Care Reform, health and ancillary insurance products, and quoting processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with database applications.
- Ability to influence and effectively interact with C‑suite members.
- Strong attention to detail, self‑motivation, discipline, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage workload and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
- Up to date on current market trends, technology tools, and regulatory changes.
Base pay range: $110,000 – $120,000 per year. Compensation may include variable components such as commission and annual bonus based on individual and company performance. Eligible employees receive health, wellbeing, retirement, and financial benefits, paid time off, overtime pay for non‑exempt employees, and robust learning and development opportunities. Job‑related expenses are reimbursed per company policy.
