Position Overview & ResponsibilitiesSt. John’s seeks to hire a part‑time Latin teacher to teach three sections of middle school Latin. One of the courses is a co‑taught class with a religious studies teacher covering the history, culture, and stories found in the Gospels and the Roman Empire. The ideal candidate can teach all levels of Latin language, literature, and culture, using technology to enhance learning.
Experience with the ACL Standards for Classical Language Learning and communicative, comprehensible Latin teaching methods is preferred.

Education and Experience
- Minimum of 1–3 years of teaching experience (or applicable practicum).
- Bachelor’s degree in Latin education / language, literature, or culture (master’s preferred).
- Fluency in Latin is required.
- Standing/sitting for long periods.
- Adaptive to frequent changes in position throughout the day.
- Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person or by telephone.
- Use of hands and fingers for manipulation, computer keyboard, educational tools, play equipment, and performing first aid and CPR.
- Vision: close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
