Preferred Qualifications- Demonstrated clinical proficiency in veterinary medicine, including diagnostic and treatment planning skills.
- Experience interpreting and utilizing diagnostic radiology in a clinical setting.
- Knowledge of veterinary practice operations and practice management principles.
- Experience treating both small animals and exotic species.
- Experience managing vivarium operations, including animal care, regulatory compliance, and facility oversight.
- Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and outstanding client service.
- Experience with large‑animal and agricultural veterinary medicine.
- Strong knowledge of DEA regulations and a proven record of maintaining accurate controlled substance inventory, documentation, and compliance records.
- CVT or equivalent certification.
- Licensed or licensable by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as an Animal Science Teacher.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Satisfactory SAFIS, CORI and SORI required.
- General OSHA 30‑Hour certification preferred, but required within three years of employment.
- OSHA Train‑the‑Trainer certification preferred, but required within five years of employment.
- Map each grade curriculum to the State Frameworks.
- Provide instruction in the content in accordance with the Massachusetts Vocational‑Technical Frameworks in the specified career area.
- Enforce all OSHA safety regulations within the career education setting.
- Instruct students in the field when participating in outside projects.
- Document student performance, student behavior, and student achievement within the career education setting.
- Provide review and reinforcement of new concepts; support students in the completion of their assigned tasks.
- Demonstrate knowledge of students’ IEPs, as well as the accommodations and modifications necessary for student success; modify assignments, tests, and quizzes in collaboration with special educators, if required.
- Develop resources for students to be successful, such as models, graphic organizers, and copies of class notes, video clips, demonstrations, etc.
- Participate as a member of the career area department; collaborate with teachers within the department.
- Collaborate with teachers in academic disciplines to facilitate learning activities that are cross‑curricular and project‑based.
- Collaborate with the Cooperative Education Coordinator to place students in their career area.
- Maintain documentation, including student performance, behavior, progress data, notation of student absences/tardies, and conversations with parents and administrators.
- Provide content support outside of the general education classroom, as necessary.
- Integrate technology into the curriculum.
- Respond to any correspondence, both oral and written, that comes from a parent or guardian.
- Participate in conferences and meetings when appropriate; contribute observations and ideas.
- Attend Advisory Board meetings twice per year; attend Open House.
- Keep current with changes in your career area; collaborate with Advisory Board members.
- Accept additional responsibilities as may be required under the direction of the Coordinator of Career Technical & Agricultural Education.
Position Type: Full‑Time
Salary: $60,162 to $112,882 Per Year
