Job Description

Essex North Shore is seeking a Engineering, Robotics & Automation Technology Teacher to join the Engineering Department for the  school year. Candidates should possess robust knowledge in electronics, computer programming, robotics, and engineering.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should be licensed or licensable by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
  • Satisfactory CORI, SAFIS, and SORI required.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • General OSHA 30-Hour certification preferred, but required within three years of employment.
  • OSHA Train-the-Trainer certification preferred, but required within five years of employment.
  • Undergraduate Certificate degree preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
Performance Responsibilities
  • Operate multiple types of equipment including robots, CNC machines, laser cutters, plasma cutters, etc.
  • Create engaging lessons in an interactive applied program area.
  • Map each grade curriculum to the State Frameworks.
  • Provide instruction in the content in accordance with the Massachusetts Vocational-Technical Frameworks in the specified career area.
  • Enforce all OSHA safety regulations within the career education setting.
  • Instruct students in the field when participating in outside projects.
  • Document student performance, student behavior, and student achievement within the career education setting.
  • Provide review and reinforcement of new concepts; supports students in the completion of their assigned tasks.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of students’ IEPs, as well as the accommodations and modifications necessary for student success; modify assignments, tests, and quizzes in collaboration with special educators, if required.
  • Develop resources for students to be successful, such as models, graphic organizers, and copies of class notes, video clips, demonstrations, etc.
  • Participate as a member of the career area department; collaborate with teachers within the department.
  • Collaborate with teachers in academic disciplines to facilitate learning activities that are cross-curricular and project-based.
  • Collaborate with the Cooperative Education Coordinator to place students in their career area.
  • Maintain documentation, including student performance, behavior, progress data, notation of student absences/tardies, and conversations with parents and administrators.
  • Provide content support outside of the general education classroom, as necessary.
  • Integrate technology into the curriculum.
  • Respond to any correspondence, both oral and written, that comes from a parent or guardian.
  • Participate in conferences and meetings when appropriate; contribute observations and ideas.
  • Attend Advisory Board meetings twice per year; attend Open House.
  • Keep current with changes in your career area; collaborate with Advisory Board members.
  • Accept additional responsibilities as may be required under the direction of the STEAM Coordinator or their designee.
Position Information

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $60,162 to $112,882 Per Year
