Middle School Spanish Teacher (Grades 6–8)

We are seeking a dynamic, student-centered Middle School Spanish Teacher to join the Holten-Richmond Middle School community. The ideal candidate will create an engaging, inclusive classroom environment that fosters language acquisition, cultural understanding, and a love of learning. This position emphasizes proficiency-based instruction aligned with Massachusetts World Language standards.

• Plan and deliver engaging Spanish instruction for students in grades 6–8
• Design lessons aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks for World Languages
• Incorporate all modes of communication: interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs, including students with IEPs and English learners
• Use culturally responsive teaching practices to connect language learning with real-world contexts
• Develop and implement formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress
• Use data to inform instruction and provide targeted support
• Provide timely, constructive feedback to students
• Establish a positive, structured classroom culture that promotes risk-taking and language use
• Set clear expectations for behavior and academic engagement
• Foster student independence and collaboration
• Collaborate with grade-level teams, special education staff, and related service providers
• Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and common planning time
• Communicate effectively with families about student progress
• Engage in ongoing professional development

Full-time

$61,187 to $120,066 Per Year

• Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field
• Massachusetts DESE licensure in World Language (Spanish), Grades 5–12 (or eligibility)
• Strong proficiency in Spanish (spoken and written)
• Experience working with middle school students preferred
• Knowledge of proficiency-based language instruction (ACTFL-aligned practices preferred)
• Experience with differentiated instruction and inclusive practices
• At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred
• Master’s degree preferred
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required
