Responsibilities- Facilitate algorithm development as the systems engineer within the Algorithm Engineering Team, ensuring seamless integration and interaction of newly developed algorithms with embedded software and the pump system.
- Manage independent execution of algorithm development projects for timely completion of tasks.
- Coordinate with project leaders, prepare, and lead design reviews to attain agreement among stakeholders and drive projects to conclusion.
- Develop and update algorithm design documentation including design requirements, risk analysis, and design descriptions to support both quality and regulatory documentation.
- Review and update test protocols, reports, and engineering summaries to support quality and regulatory documentation.
- Provide key input into defining system verification plans, protocols, and reports.
- Design and execute, with assistance from junior staff and/or technical support team, system-level testing of products to verify algorithms against specifications.
- Design and lead junior staff and/or technical support team to execute exploratory bench tests of heart pumps (including hemodynamics, blood compatibility, ease of use, strength, and reliability) and animal studies to support algorithm engineers during the design and development phase.
- Drive prioritization of lab fixture upgrades and supervise junior staff and/or technical support team’s execution of upgrades and maintenance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a Senior Systems Engineer–related occupation.
- Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a Senior Systems Engineer–related occupation.

- Vacation – 120 hours per calendar year
