Overview

Johnson & Johnson is a global leader in healthcare innovation. We seek to join Abiomed Quality as Team Lead, Failure Investigations, Post Market Engineering (PME) to support a team conducting post-market investigations of FDA-approved medical devices. This is a people-leadership role within the Post Market Engineering group in Raynham, MA. The team drives complaint failure investigations, supports CAPAs, and advances engineering products to improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Lead engineers and processes to conduct post-market investigations of complaints and failures.
  • Establish project plans and schedules, adhering to design controls; drive technical discussions with the team.
  • Ensure timely closure of complaints and deliverables across the organization.
  • Lead training and onboarding of new team members and support development of the team.
  • Manage deliverables from key stakeholders and foster a culture of innovative problem solving.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of Abiomed products and establish root cause analysis techniques, processes, and test methods.
  • Drive the completion of corrective and preventive actions in a timely manner.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    BS in Mechanical Engineering or related scientific discipline required; MS preferred.
  • Experience and Skills:

    3+ years of related mechanical engineering experience; knowledge of lean, six sigma, kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, extrusion, and fabrication.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) and ability to prioritize tasks; able to work with limited supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Preferred:
    Medical Device experience, Green Belt certification; SAP knowledge.
  • Other:
    May require up to 10% travel (US & EU).
