Non-Unit Professional position, 37.5 hours/week

SALARY: Salary range $87,000.00 - $. The offered salary will be based on the candidate’s experience, education, and current market conditions. Candidates who exceed the minimum qualifications and meet preferred qualifications may be eligible for a salary above the stated range. The Energy Systems Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of College Energy Management & Building Automation Systems (EMS/BAS) including connectivity to building energy meters, building automation system data points, and Heating/Cooling data points in an effort to lower energy consumption and utility costs while maintaining occupant comfort. They will also be responsible for collecting and analyzing data from the EMS and utility bills to identify energy optimization opportunities, providing recommendations for energy conservation, efficiencies and procurement, while seeking reductions in emissions and carbon footprints.

• Manage and operate the Energy Management Systems, troubleshoot EMS operating issues, including connectivity with Network Services, and other vendor systems.
• Perform in-the-field investigations to determine mechanical systems are operating properly with building automation system sensors and actuators. Make repairs with the assistance of facilities trade staff.
• Oversee building automation system vendors in collaboration with the Director of Facilities.
• Monitor energy consumption to determine systems scheduling for optimal efficiency and cost savings.
• Provide 24/7 emergency response for EMS/BAS systems when required.
• Review construction projects with a focus on sound engineering design and incorporation of energy conservation elements. Review, comment, and present recommendations to the project management team.
• Monitor the campus solar arrays to ensure proper energy production and revenue are achieved. Establish and manage maintenance contracts as well as utility & SREC records.
• Collaborate with others overseeing maintenance operations regarding energy conservation and efficient system operations. Manage NSCC demand response operations.
• Work with the Director of Facilities and Assistant Directors of Facilities in creating, updating and maintaining a robust preventive maintenance program.
• Schedule and program all non-automated events, holidays or special requests in the EMS/BAS.
• Work with Assistant Directors of Facilities on hot/cold calls from building occupants. Investigate root causes to determine permanent solutions.
• Assist in establishing departmental standards regarding controls and/or HVAC systems.
• Review construction documents for college projects with commissioning of energy systems.
• Perform other duties in support of facilities operations as necessary, including procurement & bidding, project management, and contractor/vendor oversight.

Supervision Exercised: Assigns, supervises and evaluates the work of consultants, engineers, architects and other professional contracted personnel.
