Requirements

The Advanced Clinical Research group leads the design and execution of early clinical research and early‑stage clinical studies for J&J Med Tech Heart Recovery. We are seeking a motivated co‑op student to support the development, structuring, and analysis of clinical databases for several upcoming studies. This role focuses on integrating mechanistic measurements (e.g., hemodynamics) with clinical outcomes to guide the design of future trials.

Qualifications
  • Structure, clean, and curate clinical databases across multiple studies
  • Conduct independent analyses on large datasets
  • Experience working with relational databases (MySQL, Postgres, etc.)
  • Proficiency with data science / machine learning tools:
    • Python (numpy, pandas, scikit‑learn)
    • R (tidyverse, ggplot2)
    • Git, Jupyter Notebooks, Quarto
  • Strong understanding of statistical concepts and analytical methods
  • Experience working with APIs
  • Strong attention to detail in both written and visual presentation of findings
  • Excellent collaboration skills and interest in working closely with clinicians and scientists

Pay Range

$23.00/hr to $51.50/hr

Additional Description For Pay Transparency

The expected pay range for this position is between $23.00 per hour and $51.50 per hour but will be based on candidate's program year, discipline, degree and/or experience. Co-Ops/Interns are eligible to participate in Company sponsored employee medical benefits in accordance with the terms of the plan. Co-Ops and Interns are eligible for the following sick time benefits: up to 40 hours per calendar year;

for employees who reside in the State of Washington, up to 56 hours per calendar year. Co-Ops and Interns are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension). For additional general information on Company benefits, please go to:
