As part of Heart Recovery within J&J Med Tech, the Project Management Office (PMO) supports execution of cross-functional projects and programs to deliver the overarching business strategy.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Program Management to lead strategic programs for the Heart Recovery organization. These programs will involve cross-functional business priorities, including supporting the annual strategic planning process, priority programs and cultural initiatives. They will drive successful program execution and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Reporting directly to the Program Management Office Lead, this leadership role involves strategic planning, resource allocation, and fostering a collaborative environment.

This position requires up to 10% travel.


Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with key functions including Finance, Strategic Marketing, Medical Office and Engineering to support Strategic Plan, Worldwide Product Plan, Business Plan and Tactical Plan cycles.
  • Lead team/s to translate organizational strategy into an integrated executable plan, including scenario planning, governance approvals and setting priorities, and optimizing plans through constructive challenge and continuous dialogue with the different functions to ensure all activities are aligned with team goals and objectives.
  • Drive teams to meet or exceed those goals by providing superior global cross-functional operational leadership and management in a matrix organization.
  • Partner with cross-functional leads (e.g., Engineering, Commercial, Strategic Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Regulatory, etc.) across Heart Recovery to ensure end-to-end program oversight for strategic business priorities (e.g. cultural programs) and to identify and mitigate risks and issues to maintain quality, timelines, resources and budget.
  • Lead scenario planning, resource planning, risk management, issue identification and mitigation, problem-solving, contingency planning, action-item follow-up, decision-support and decision-making to deliver strategic goals for the organization.
  • Work with standard budgeting and forecasting models to address specific project needs in collaboration with team partners; identify trade-off options and novel approaches to exploring risk and accelerating program execution.
  • Manage team information, documentation, and communications to ensure timely and accurate dissemination of strategy and operational status throughout the Company.
