Position Summary

• Drive sales in the Vision Center by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, pricing, signing, in-stock and inventory levels, budgeting and forecasting, and analyzing economic trends and community needs.
• Model, enforce, and provide direction to Associates on customer/member service approaches to resolve needs, complaints, and issues within Company guidelines and standards.
• Oversee community outreach programs and encourage Associates to serve as good members of the community.
• Ensure compliance with Company and legal policies, procedures, and regulations for the Vision Center by analyzing reports, implementing asset protection and safety controls, and overseeing safety, operational and quality assurance reviews.
• Develop and implement action plans to improve performance; provide direction on executing Company programs and strategic initiatives; and direct Vision Center Associates to ensure confidentiality of information and assigned records.
• Provide supervision and development opportunities for Vision Center Associates through hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, recognizing performance, and fostering a sense of belonging in the workplace.
• Ensure the provision of quality eyewear by consulting with and educating Members/Customers, selecting products based on needs, obtaining measurements, verifying prescriptions, maintaining confidential information, performing minor frame repair, and maintaining optical equipment.
• Uphold the Open Door Policy by meeting with Associates, researching issues, and suggesting resolutions; coordinate and oversee job-related activities by building relationships with key stakeholders and tracking progress toward goals and improvement opportunities.
• Promote continuous learning and adaptability within the team; demonstrate integrity and ethics aligned with Walmart values and foster a culture of belonging, collaboration, and service.

• Completion of 2 or more years of college OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience OR 2 years’ general work experience including 1 year’s optical experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current eligibility to work as an optician or apprentice optician under applicable state laws, regulations, and/or rules.
