Institution Maintenance Foreperson (2600043B) – Full‑time position working in the Northeast Region for the Hogan Regional Center in Danvers, MA.
Responsibilities- Delegate responsibility and oversight to departmental supervision in each licensed discipline.
- Assist the director in writing specifications for projects that need to go out to bid with state vendors.
- Assist the director in ensuring that contracts are being adhered to by outside contractors.
- Communicate directives to staff in person, by cell phone, e‑mail or texting.
- Be on call after scheduled working hours and respond to emergencies.
- Responsible for storm management operations.
- Collect data and create reports for the Maintenance Director.
- Maintain fitness to lift 70 lbs repetitively, climb ladders and scaffolding, and stand for extended periods of time during the tour of duty.
- Assist the director in staff development and training.
- Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of a safety program at the facility.
- Assist in project management, including strategy, planning, budgeting and execution of in‑house and outsourced work.
- Assist in the compliance of all life‑safety responsibilities.
- Assign work to the maintenance department staff and monitor their progress in CAMIS and in the field.
- Review daily staff sign‑in sheets.
- Review staff time submittals in SSTA with OSSI for accuracy.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures of the facility.
- Maintain cleanliness of all jurisdictional areas of operation.
- Meet with outside vendors to work out logistics associated with contracted work.
- Monitor all vendor activity and report project status to the director.
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
- Ensure all affected parties are properly informed ahead of planned maintenance operations.
- Perform the annual three‑part EPRS on staff.
- When the Director of Core Services is off the IMF is responsible for all operations and must inform the director of any emergencies.
- Follow up on CAMIS work orders, prioritizing with department supervisors and providing oversight upon completion.
- Ensure operational integrity of all department power equipment and heavy equipment.
- Maintain an equipment maintenance log and schedule service at the proper intervals per manufacturer’s preventive maintenance schedule.
- Delegate responsibilities to staff, checking their progress as needed.
- Promote the importance of good work and safety practices through mandatory safety webinars and classes.
- Maintain aerial and scissor lift certifications and Master Hoisting Engineering licensure 2A/1C minimum.
- Trade licensure preferred.
Shift: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM Monday–Friday. Days off:
Saturday and Sunday. 40 hours per week.
Position:
Full‑time. Salary: $72,898.80–$ annually.
