Medical Device Assembler – Cleanroom
Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Medical Device Assembler to join our Med Tech team in Danvers, Massachusetts. The role involves assembling, inspecting, and testing high‑quality medical devices within a controlled manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Process polymer materials to compose, test, or apply on medical devices per approved manufacturing procedures.
- Assemble plastic and metal components into medical devices in accordance with approved procedures.
- Perform in‑process quality checks on subassemblies and finished product.
- Utilize small hand tools, calibrated instruments, measurement equipment, microscopes, and test fixtures.
- Participate in line meetings as needed.
- Work with engineers and technicians to resolve line issues and suggest improvements.
- Maintain clean room integrity by using proper attire and adhering to clean‑room environment practices and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records/documentation related to quality, work in progress, test results, labor (e.g., timecards), and special projects.
- Apply workstation practices and line clearance in daily activities.
- Adhere to general safety rules, manufacturing procedures, company policies and procedures, QSR, and FDA regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of intensive microscope‑based experience in a medical device environment.
- Good hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity to work with small plastic and metal components in a high‑volume manufacturing setting.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Basic math skills for task execution under general supervision.
- Computer literacy; working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite desired.
- Willingness to work either 1st shift (7:00‑15:00) or 2nd shift (15:30‑23:30).
- Preferred:
Knowledge of lean, six sigma, kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives. - Preferred: GDP/GMP experience.
- Preferred:
Soldering, inspection experience, material and work order transactions.
Base pay range: $45,100.00 – $73,370.00.
- Retirement:
Eligible for the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). - Long‑term incentive program eligibility.
- Vacation: 120 hours per calendar year.
- Sick time: 40 hours per calendar year (48 hours for Colorado residents, 56 hours for Washington residents).
- Holiday pay, including floating holidays: 13 days per calendar year.
- Work, personal and family time: up to 40 hours per calendar year.
- Parental leave: 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child.
- Bereavement leave: 240 hours for an immediate family member; 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year.
- Caregiver leave: 80 hours in a 52‑week rolling period.
- Volunteer leave: 10 days (32 hours) per calendar year.
- Military spouse time‑off: 80 hours per calendar year.
