Director of Immunology

I’m supporting an established, scientist-led life science tools company with the appointment of a Director of Immunology for Product Development.

This is a highly visible scientific leadership role responsible for shaping a globally competitive portfolio of antibodies, immunoassays and research reagents for academic, biotech and biopharma customers.

The successful candidate will lead a small team of scientists while helping define where the immunology portfolio should go next—combining deep scientific expertise with an understanding of emerging research technologies, customer needs and commercial opportunity.

• Identifying emerging areas of immunology and translating them into differentiated product and portfolio opportunities
• Own and guide the development and application of antibody-based detection reagents across technologies ranging from traditional immunoassays to multiplex and multiomic platforms
• Working with scientific leadership, Product Management, Marketing and Sales to prioritise commercially meaningful opportunities
• Building relationships with academic and biopharma KOLs, advisers and external collaborators
• Overseeing innovative, publication-quality immunology research
• Leading, mentoring and developing a team of scientists, with scope to grow the group over time

• A PhD-level scientist with deep, current expertise in immunology, immuno-oncology, inflammation, immune-mediated disease or a closely related area
• Strong familiarity with antibodies as research and protein-detection reagents, including immunoassays and modern detection technologies
• Someone who bridges rigorous science with real commercial and market judgment
• Broad knowledge of where immunology research and immune-based therapies are heading
• A strong publication record and established relationships across the academic and/or biopharma immunology community
• Experience leading and developing scientific teams
• The communication skills and confidence to influence both bench scientists and senior executives
