Job Overview
We are searching for the best talent for the Principal Field Research Specialist role at Johnson & Johnson. This field‑based position is available throughout the United States and focuses on cardiovascular research and product development.
Responsibilities- Serve as the clinical authority and provide strategic insights to inform product development decisions.
- Collaborate with senior product managers, R&D, and cross‑functional teams to ensure clinical input is integrated into all stages of development.
- Ensure research activity and SOPs meet the highest clinical standards and align with workflow needs.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to identify and capitalize on new clinical opportunities.
- Develop comprehensive internal and external toolkits to optimize field research workflows.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally and with commercial teams to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable feedback to drive continuous improvement.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with external partners to drive future clinical trial success.
- Lead strategic initiatives, expanding existing partnerships and exploring new marketplaces.
- Perform clinical quality reviews of criteria, workflows, and technical build.
- Design and lead educational sessions for internal and external teams on relevant clinical content.
- Excels at leading multiple complex project initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree preferred (MBA, MSN, DNP, APN).
- 8‑10+ years of clinical research experience after clinical training in a related field.
- Expertise in cardiac anatomy and cardiovascular health practices.
- Training and specialization in heart failure, interventional cardiology, and cardiac surgery.
- Prior experience leading teams with direct reports and/or via matrix reporting structure.
- 50‑70% travel required.
- Preferred: 10+ years in medical device industry.
- Impella experience is a plus.
- Competitive base salary: $114,000 – $182,850.
- Eligible for annual performance bonus and long‑term incentive program.

- Consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
- Time off: up to 120 hours of vacation per calendar year; up to 40 hours of sick time (56 hours in Washington state); up to 13 days of holiday pay, including floating holidays; up to 40 hours of work, personal, and family time.
