Heavy Equipment Operator Working Foreman | DPW Streets

The Town of Danvers welcomes applicants for the full-time, benefited position of Heavy Equipment Operator Working Foreman for the DPW Streets Division. The Town of Danvers is a reputable Town on the North Shore, providing a supportive and welcoming environment for all Town staff, including a commitment to professional developmentand policies that promote and support a healthy work/life balance. This position is responsible for highly skilled work in the operation of automotive and/or complex highway construction maintenance equipment requiring a hydraulic license.

This position manipulates controls on vehicles, and/or attachments and to perform routine daily maintenance on assigned equipment.

We are currently looking to fill two (2) Heavy Equipment Operator Working Foreman positions in the DPW Streets Division. This is a benefitted, full-time position that works 40 hours per week (Monday - Friday: 7:00AM - 3:00PM). This position earns $25.56/hourly with the ability to move through the pay scale via step system to a maximum of $29.41/hourly (AFSCME Unit

A).

The Town will consider any combination of relevant work experience, volunteerism, education, and transferable skills as qualifying unless an item in the qualification section of the job description is labeled required.

Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in roadway maintenance, construction and operation of heavy trucks and equipment, to include operation of gas and diesel hydraulic equipment preferred. Graduation from high school or trade school required. Associates degree preferred. Possession of a Commercial Driver's License including general knowledge and airbrake, and tanker endorsements required. Requires possession of Hydraulics License. Completion of, or ability to complete within twelve (12) months of hire, OSHA Confined Spaces Safety Course is required.

Completion of, or ability to complete within twelve (12) months of hire, excavation safety and competent person training is required.
