Schedule:

Full-Time, Monday-Friday 8 am-4 pm

Pay Rate:

$25.00 Hourly

Northeast Arc is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and organized Employment Specialist to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving meaningful employment and community engagement goals. In this role, you will provide job coaching, employment readiness training, community-based support, and advocacy to help individuals develop skills, gain independence, and succeed in competitive work environments.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Provide employment readiness training and skill development to individuals receiving services.
  • Assist individuals in identifying career interests, goals, and employment opportunities.
  • Support job placement efforts and provide individualized job coaching at community worksites.
  • Conduct follow-up support with individuals and employers to promote long-term job success.
  • Adapt support strategies and work environments to maximize independence.
  • Assist individuals with personal care and physical support needs as required.
  • Facilitate community-based learning experiences, including job tours and career exploration activities.
  • Maintain positive communication with employers, families, guardians, and funding sources.
  • Provide advocacy and case management support for an assigned caseload.
  • Complete required documentation, progress notes, and data collection in a timely manner.
  • Transport individuals served when necessary using a personal vehicle.
Qualifications:
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to support and advocate for individuals with diverse needs.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and related applications.
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation and meet deadlines.
  • Flexible and adaptable in community and employment settings.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least one year of experience working with adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities or in a related field.
