About the RoleAre you a master technician who thrives on keeping heavy iron moving, organizing a clean shop, and leading a crew? We are looking for a Working Shop Foreman / Lead Fleet Mechanic dedicated to working alongside, scheduling, mentoring, and training our fleet team. You won't just be turning wrenches; you will manage shop flow, oversee scheduled maintenance for a diverse, high-utilization commercial fleet, and build up the skills of our technicians.
This is a secure, highly compensated, year-round leadership role in a booming company that operates on a simple philosophy:
if the company wins, the team wins.
- Elite Dual-Pay Structure: Earn a steady $40.00 to $45.00/hr base rate during standard shop operations, and bump up to $67.00/hr during winter storm management.
- June Profit-Sharing Bonus: We succeed together. Cash in on our dedicated June bonus, calculated directly from our net profit and the inches of snow we clear. When the company hits its wins, you profit directly.
- Premium Benefits: Comprehensive healthcare coverage, dental, vision, and a company-matched retirement plan.
- Modern Fleet & Gear: Work in a well-equipped, organized environment managing late-model medium/heavy trucks, loaders, and commercial landscaping equipment.
- Lead Shop Operations: Plan, schedule, and assign daily repair and maintenance tasks to our fleet team to minimize downtime.
- Diagnose & Repair: Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and major/minor repairs on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical components, and brake systems.
- Fleet Management: Oversee our preventive maintenance (PM) program for commercial trucks (Class 3-8), heavy yellow iron (loaders, skid steers), and specialized landscape equipment.
- Inventory & Vendor Control: Track parts inventory, order shop supplies efficiently, and manage relationships with external parts vendors.
- Safety First: Maintain a clean, OSHA-compliant shop environment and enforce safe tool and equipment usage.
- Proven Leadership: 3+ years of experience as a Shop Foreman, Fleet Manager, Lead Mechanic, or Service Writer.
- Technical Mastery: Strong mechanical expertise across diesel engines, commercial truck chassis, complex hydraulics, and 12V/24V electrical systems.
- Tool Ownership: Possession of a comprehensive set of professional hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
- License Requirements: Valid driver’s license with a clean record (CDL Class A or B is a major plus, but not required).
- Storm Readiness: Ability and willingness to work flexible, extended hours during critical winter weather events to keep our snow fleet operational.
