Child Development Center - Fall 2026 - Student Worker / Federal Work Study

This Student Worker position at Danville Area Community College is designed for students enrolled in at least 6 credit hours. The role supports the Child Development Center’s mission to provide an excellent learning environment for children.

Accountability Objective

DACC is committed to building a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive staff and encourages applicants from underrepresented groups to apply.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the teacher with weekly lesson plans.
  • Support children during classroom activities and provide a safe, engaging environment.
  • Follow directions and maintain a positive attitude toward working with children.
Required Qualifications
  • Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours.
  • Eligible for the Federal Work Study program (qualification determined by the Financial Aid Department).
Desired Qualifications
  • Successfully pass an Illinois Department of Child & Family Services (DCFS) background screening.
  • Strong desire and ability to interact with children.
  • Ability to take direction and collaborate with teachers.
Compensation

$16.00 per hour. Pay is for either full‑time or part‑time hours as needed.
