Accountability Objective

The faculty member will provide instruction in the appropriate field as well as provide assistance to students via email, phone or designated office hours. Faculty will keep records of attendance and grades meeting all college verification process deadlines.

• Master’s degree in Psychology or Master’s in related field with 18 Graduate level hours in psychology.
• Experience teaching classes at the college level, preferably in a community college setting.
• In-depth knowledge of subject matter to be taught.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching.
• Experience working with diverse populations.

• Ph.D. in the psychology or related field with 18 Graduate level hours in psychology.
• Documented student success, recruitment, and retention.
• Collaboration in college and community settings, including committees and institution building activities.
• Experience supporting first-generation and non-traditional students.

• Develop and implement evaluation and assessment techniques that are appropriate and timely for each class.
• Must demonstrate respect for the needs of a diverse student population through humaneness and dedication to the education profession.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the latest technology. Willingness to incorporate technology in the classroom.
• Ability to effectively communicate with students, colleagues, and deans.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills appropriate to the discipline’s real-world application in the workplace.
• Participate in planning and implementing program and course level assessments.
• Maintain current syllabus, course outline, and credit hour forms using Danville Area Community College provided templates.
• Attend program curriculum team meetings.
• Maintain a shell in the college’s LMS for communications with students for all courses every semester.
