Position
Forging Engineering Manager for thyssenkrupp Crankshaft Company, LLC in Danville, Illinois.
ResponsibilitiesOversee all forging engineering functions including process and product engineering and related projects for forging. Develop forge tooling designs for new parts, improve existing designs, and coordinate with customers through the full life‑cycle of parts. Observe processes, monitor product from start to finish, and provide direction. Lead process qualification and validation activities for new products, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards.
Identify quality and customer needs to improve operational performance and direct the team to diagnose and resolve technical challenges. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive process enhancements. Plan, assign, distribute work, and establish priorities to train team members in methods and procedures.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering, or equivalent. Minimum three years of experience as a forging, process, or design engineer. Required experience (each 3+ years): thermal dynamics and forging processes; identifying and implementing process improvement strategies to enhance productivity; leading process qualification and validation activities for new products; researching forging industry trends and best practices, and incorporating them into manufacturing;
and generating Process Engineering Change notices for internal and external design changes.
$102,086 to $112,000 per year.
