UAW Electronics Technician I
Responsible for machine operation for all component placement, inspection, soldering and encapsulation/coating as well as functional test, and inspection of assemblies. Also responsible for some troubleshooting and rework of processed assemblies.
Experience as a Electronics Technician or relevant experience in electronics manufacturing preferred.
Will be required to perform basic equipment set-up, with verification that correct parts are in the machine, and that all parts are being placed within specified tolerances.
Ensures process and equipment remain within acceptable company standards. Maintains metrics for equipment utilization and other documentation.
Maintains a sense of urgency while being safety minded and using equipment in a safe manner.
Ensures quality product is produced.
Document complex assemblies and communication control devices.
Interact daily with R&D and the Process Engineering team to improve designs, manufacturing processes and test procedures.
Assists Process Engineering team with implementing all aspects of the electronic control instructions and processes.
Provide training on electronic control systems assembly processes.
Works in a team environment.
Flexible with work schedule and assignment to meet demand and or schedule.
Other duties as required.
Able to read and comprehend instructions.
Be able to read and interpret set up sheets and other technical engineering documents.
Able to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations including customers and other employees.
Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
Able to stand, walk, talk and hear. Stoop, kneel, & crouch.
Frequently lift and or move 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and or move 50 pounds.
Vision Requirements: close vision, distance vision, color vision, ability to adjust focus.
4-year degree or 2-year AA electronics degree, or military education with extensive experience in technical process flow documentation preferred.
Three years' experience in electronics manufacturing in assembly of printed PCBA boards, SMD and through hole components for Electonic module production preferred.
Operate windows & OS2 computers.
Acquire certification in IPC 610 or equivalent quality standard and demonstrate the ability to perform operations at those standards.
