The City of Danville is seeking a Community Relations Coordinator to support the Community Relations Administrator while planning and executing impactful community events, strengthening partnerships with local organizations and enhancing the City’s public image. This role requires strong communication, organizational, and event management skills, along with experience in marketing and graphic design. The ideal candidate is collaborative, detail‑oriented, and passionate about promoting community engagement and telling Danville’s story.
PayScale
$45,680.00 with 3% increases yearly.
Qualifications- Minimum of a two (2) year college degree in community relations or a related field. Equivalent coursework and training in the field of communications, marketing, public relations, business marketing, or related subject areas may also be considered.
- At least two (2) years of work experience in community relations, event management, communications, marketing, public relations, business marketing, or a related field.
- Excellent communication skills, including professional‑level knowledge of business English, grammar, and spelling, as well as the ability to compose professional correspondence.
- Great interpersonal skills and ability to work well as part of a team, including establishing and maintaining highly effective working relationships.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to plan and carry out large‑scale community events.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects independently and efficiently to meet deadlines with the ability to be nimble in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage sensitive or controversial subjects with tact, kindness, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related writing, presentation, and publication software.
