School Nurse Position

The Vermilion Association for Special Education is seeking a full or part-time school nurse to serve our public therapeutic day school. The nurse's primary responsibilities include obtaining school registration documents, distributing medications, checking vitals, assessing illness, checking blood sugar, providing professional development to staff, and conducting medical reviews and making educational recommendations for special education students. The school nurse may occasionally assist within multiple school sites in districts served by the Vermilion Association for Special Education.

ISBE Type 73 School Service Personnel - School Nurse Certification is preferred. If not currently held, the applicant should be willing to take a certification course offered through the Illinois State Board of Education. Work for the course may be completed within contractual hours. (RN, LPN, BSN all considered). Position is full-time, however part-time would also be considered. Salary and benefits are based on years of experience and credentials.
