Airgas is Hiring for a VMI Tech/Sales Support Specialist in Danville, IL! $25 per hour, this position is eligible for OT. Monday-Friday, no weekend work!

The VMI Tech/Outside Sales Support Specialist delivers and services key vending account customers and customer cabinets & storerooms relative to inventory of gases, consumables and safety products. Additionally, this position does basic troubleshooting and mechanical repairs as needed. This position focuses on servicing existing accounts throughout an assigned territory. This position will be cross trained to assist our Outside Sales team as needed.

Delivery and replenishment to customers of various industrial products and vending machine or storeroom items. Performs basic troubleshooting and repairs mechanical vending systems as needed. Reviews manual stock levels of various inventories at multiple plant departments for reorder. Maintains dedicated branch inventory levels for proper replenishment. Tracks and turns in delivery tickets and consignment fill tickets. Fosters exceptional internal relationships by supporting the sales force and delivering professional, accurate quotes.

Translates sales data and margin analysis, as well as usage reports, into actionable insights for account managers using SAP and BW (Business Warehouse) systems. Guides and streamlines special pricing and cost requests from the sales team. Provides comprehensive PSA management and contract review, coordinates sales deal pricing in PAW (Price Agreement Workbench), and works alongside account and district managers to implement effective pricing strategies.

Prepares business reviews and performance metrics to help account managers shape successful sales strategies. Collaborates with the dispute workbench team to resolve customer pricing inquiries smoothly and efficiently. Other duties as assigned.

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED Required.
• Must have a valid US driver’s license.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in product distribution or inventory management.
• Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Self-starter; self‑motivated; operates with a sense of urgency; ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Welding Technology or Sales preferred.
• Experience with welding and safety products or related industrial products a plus.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Prior experience with SAP order entry software preferred.
