Pay: $22.75/hr plus shift differentials of $2.50/hr for 2nd shift and $3.50/hr for 3rd shift.
Ready to accelerate your career while helping our customers move forward? As a Technician at Penske, you’ll perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on the newest and best-maintained fleet of vehicles in the industry, helping customers keep their vehicles in shape and on the road.
Main Responsibilities- Ensuring vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
- Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
- Performing preventative maintenance repairs such as tire replacement or rotation, component lubrication, replacement, electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles.
- Partnering with your manager to learn new skills via Penske’s technician training and hands‑on coaching.
- Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by a supervisor.

- Strong, well‑rounded training on a variety of OEM equipment (Penske’s Technician Certification Program is certified as a Continuing Automotive Service Education provider).
- Advanced vehicle maintenance technology.
- Location and schedule flexibility.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred); vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and 1‑2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to solve problems and comfortable using tools.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
- Basic computer skills.
- Understanding and compliance with specific instructions, guidelines, rules, regulations, and other information established by Penske management.
- Adherence to DOT, OSHA, and all Penske safety and maintenance policies, including appropriate tool use, PPE, machine guarding, and best safety practices.
- Regular, predictable full attendance (essential).
- Required DOT qualifications: current driver qualification file maintained, annual MVR check, completed DOT physical, safety performance history, drug screening for CDL holders.
- Willingness to work required schedule, location, complete Penske employment application, background screening (criminal checks, past employment, education), pass drug screen and physical, and travel for training.
- Frequent movement; standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods.
- Routine use of hands for grasping, reaching, touching, handling, feeling, and operating tools or controls.
- Ability to work safely at heights using ladders and elevated platforms.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Sight and hearing sufficient to navigate workplace with frequent truck movement.
- Regular lifting/moving of up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasional lifting up to 100 lbs (45 kg); ability to push/pull truck tires that exceed 100 lbs.
