Trillium Staffing is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic for a local recycling company. This job requires the employee to make major repairs on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment used in the processing and transport of scrap metals.

• Diagnosing and making routine repairs and service on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
• Replacing parts and components when necessary to rebuild units at regular intervals.
• Welding parts as necessary and testing equipment to check operation.
• Operating the machine’s controls in order to perform the designated task within the machine’s capabilities.
• Training and assisting the operators in the routine care of the machines.
• Scheduling equipment for and performing preventive maintenance on trucks and equipment and coordinating these activities with the yard operations manager.

The Diesel Mechanic position is a 1st shift position, Monday through Friday, 5am – 4pm. Pay starts at $18 - $22/hour. This position is full‑time and temp‑to‑hire. Candidates must provide their own tools.

• 7+ years of experience making repairs on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment
• Previous welding experience
• Experience working with and around electrical / wiring
• Must have a valid Driver’s License
• Must provide own tools
• Ability to lift and move up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to use hand tools and trade type tools
• Ability to pass pre‑employment screenings
