Position Description
The Supervisor - Technical Services is responsible for leading E&C Technicians in the daily activities associated with supporting our RNG and LNG plants and other associated equipment at Kinder Morgan RNG locations throughout Michigan and Indiana. Kinder Morgan is one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America, operating an extensive pipeline network and terminals. The role includes mentoring and coaching employees, conducting performance reviews, participating in employment and termination decisions, and providing technical training.
- Hands‑on E&C technician work as a working member of a work team.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable governmental regulations and company policies, specifications, and procedures.
- Develop and implement job plans and cost‑effective work procedures.
- Assist in the development of annual capital and O&M budgets.
- Ensure projects are completed within prescribed budgets and time constraints.
- Interact with Operations, Engineering, Project Management, customers, suppliers, and contractors as a company representative.
- Promote and embody Kinder Morgan Core Values.
- Maintain a high regard for personal safety, company assets, and employee safety.
- Convey information that is concise, accurate, courteous, professional, and tactful.
- Communicate clearly and concisely (verbal and written) through all media types.
- Maintain detailed records.
- Prioritize and organize work/projects and execute each task safely without re‑work.
- Plan and conduct efficient meetings and training sessions.
- Lead others in the completion of work/projects.
- Identify and use appropriate resources (people, equipment, materials) to achieve results and gain support and commitment from others.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must have 10+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: instrumentation, wiring, controls, low and medium voltage distribution, electric motors, MCCs, protection systems, over‑pressure protection devices, PLCs, data networks.
- Must respond to and address call‑outs and emergencies after regular business hours, including after dark hours, which may require carrying a communication device.
- Knowledge of compressors, pumps, control valves, process plants.
- Knowledge of reading and interpreting blueprints, P& and other diagrams.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver license, and maintain a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
- May be required to achieve and maintain certifications as required to perform job duties.
Skills and Abilities

- Demonstrate intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

- Exert up to 100 lbs. of physical force.
- Stand, walk, kneel, bend, and squat for extended periods of time.
- Twist head and back for extended periods of time.
- Work in areas classified as confined space.
- Climb and work from ladders, catwalks, staging, and platforms.
- Ascend and descend slopes and ditches.
- Work with hands above head.
- Work lying on back.
- Work in adverse weather and/or extreme temperature conditions.
- The regular work schedule is Monday – Friday.
- The position requires the ability to work extended hours and weekends.
- May work in low‑lit areas.
