Accounting Manager, Financial Reporting
Healthcare Controller
We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations for a growing healthcare organization. This individual will oversee the day‑to‑day accounting function, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, support operational leadership, and help drive process improvements across the finance department.
Responsibilities- Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, month‑end close, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and healthcare‑specific accounting regulations
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
- Monitor cash flow and support strategic financial planning initiatives
- Lead audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors and tax partners
- Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures
- Partner with operational leaders to analyze financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff while fostering a collaborative team environment
- Assist with system implementations, process automation, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with leadership experience strongly preferred
- Healthcare industry experience required, including knowledge of healthcare reimbursement and reporting
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Experience with in hospital, physician group, behavioral health, long‑term care, or multi‑site healthcare environments
- Familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement and healthcare revenue cycle processes
- Experience leading audits and working with executive leadership teams
