The Cell Leader directly reports to the Shift Leader and has secondary reporting to the Production Manager. Production Technicians directly report to the Cell Leader for job assignments, skill and training assessment, safety, and productivity.
Summary of ResponsibilitiesThis task‑driven, intermediate‑level production position gives direction to Production associates to safely provide Adkev, Inc. customers a quality product on time, print and dispense labels, and assist the Shift Leader with duties as assigned. The incumbent is required to attend to all assigned duties and responsibilities (tasks) and maintain accuracy standards of production in accordance with stated requirements and IATF standards.
Responsibilitiesand Duties
- Schedule Production Techs effectively according to skill level
- Document production data (scrap, efficiency, downtime, etc.) on supplied report forms
- Perform routine visual quality checks (approximately every 2 hours) and report any findings per procedure and correct Production Tech performance, notifying Shift Leader
- Participate in QCR resolution, corrective actions and containment of defects
- Ensure vacuum loaders and grinders of active machines are functioning and unused equipment is shut off
- Print and disperse labels at the beginning of and throughout the shift
- Verify product and material meet lot traceability standards
- Help scan Denso racks as needed (Goodland Plant)
- Perform backup functions during Shift Leader’s absence from the floor
- Be flexible, multi‑task oriented and able to prioritize own tasks to complete workload in scheduled shift time
- Prioritize production requirements per Shift Leader direction, monitor for inefficiencies and provide feedback to Shift Leader for improvements (point out waste of labor, machine time and materials)
- Relieve production techs for breaks
- Set up workstations, communicate to Utility Tech and verify stock of production/packaging supplies at workstations
- Pull End of Run product from press
- Pull partials
- Reset check stations (red lights); troubleshoot cause and verify defective product has not been packaged
- Perform process audits
- Meet intermediate training requirements, follow established safety practices and policies, monitor safety compliance of cell members, report and assist Shift Leader in immediate correction of violations
- Support and maintain 5S system throughout the plant
- Adhere to Adkev, Inc.’s No Fault Attendance policy (expectation is 4 or fewer absence points)
- Be able to work overtime or adjust schedule (any shift), as required, with little or no advance notice
- Adhere to Adkev, Inc.’s policies, procedures and instructions
- Other duties as required
- Responsibilities and duties are completed in a timely and effective manner
- Output of the position is accomplished on time in accordance with efficient scheduling and sufficient resources
- Compliance with all safety and regulatory issues is met with no safety violations
- Maintain personal certifications, including professional certifications
- Adherence to IATF
16949 standards, processes, or duties assigned - Cross‑train and maintain certification in other duties as directed by Shift Leader or Production Manager
Education
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Experience
- Required:
1 year Production Technician Experience - Preferred: 1 year Auditor, Trainer or Supervisory Experience
Certifications
- Pallet Jack / Forklift
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Knowledge of areas of production to include cells, utility, trainer
- Basic math, English, PC literate
Physical
- Stand for long periods (8–12 hours); walk plant floor when needed; pull skidded product manually with pallet jack; corrected vision and hearing; full use of limbs; communication using and held radio required.
- Stoʇ, squat, climb stairs and ladders; lift 50 pounds; work at and above shoulder level for extended periods.
Mental
- Excellent math skills and accuracy, including SPC understanding, inventory totals, weights and measurements, and efficiency percentages.
Language
- Read, write, and speak English; write legibly; communicate with others.
Human Relations Skills
- Communicate with and maintain positive interpersonal skills with all members of the organization.

Pleasant, environmentally controlled. May require visiting customers, vendors, or outside professionals in uncontrolled environments.
