Reporting

Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor of Parker Meggitt Danville, Kentucky Distribution Center located at 120 Corporate Drive. This position is responsible for day-to-day assembly of component pieces into aircraft wheels and brakes. With appropriate training the individual will be required to perform functional testing of finished assemblies and prepare product for shipping to customers. This individual will also be responsible for participation in continuous improvement activities daily and on project teams.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect, clean and assemble aerospace components into final assembly and perform required testing necessary for final product acceptance. Read blueprints, specifications, and work instructions and perform mechanical assembly processes.
Documentation
  • Obtain the proper work instructions for assigned jobs and interact with production planning personnel as required.
  • Fill out documentation necessary to satisfy all MABS Kentucky government and customer requirements.
  • Inspect product and complete documentation as necessary, whether manual or through computer transactions.
Equipment
  • Operate hydraulic test equipment after appropriate training.
  • Use power hand tools and operate auxiliary machine tools as required.
Safety
  • Work in a safe manner and observe all company procedures regarding environmental, health, and safety matters.
Miscellaneous
  • Proficient in operating CNC milling machines to create precision components.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings to set up and adjust tooling on production lines.
  • Experience with hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators for precise measurements.
  • Maintain and perform minor repairs on manufacturing equipment.
  • Perform frequent heavy lifting; walk throughout the workday. Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance required. Variable schedules and additional hours may be necessary.
Job Specifications
  • Skilled at routine mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly operations.
  • Able to operate a variety of hand tools and machinery.
  • Read and interpret company documents such as safety rules, operating/manufacturing instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Good manual dexterity for small part work.
  • Recognize and solve typical problems; evaluate and select solutions from established options.
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    High school diploma or GED. Secondary certificate/training preferred.
  • Certifications:

    Vocational training, apprenticeships or equivalent experience in a related field is a plus.
  • Years of

    Experience:

    Minimum of two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. Must read and interpret blueprints and have necessary math skills for discrete part manufacturing, read product specifications, and follow written work instructions.
