JobDesignation
CNC Machine Operator will be required to perform tasks related to program editing, set‑up, operation, trouble‑shooting, and preventive maintenance for CNC machines, custom process machines and production support equipment. The successful candidate must be able to accurately read manufacturing prints, machine drawings and operator’s manuals, adjust tooling and process parameters, interpret programs and interact with outside service technicians to solve problems.
Additionally, the candidate must be able to operate material handling equipment, use a variety of measuring equipment, and perform other miscellaneous tasks.
This is a 2nd shift position and includes $2.00 per hour shift premium. This position reports Monday – Friday 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. (30‑minute lunch).
Job Core Responsibilities- Vertical Machining Operations – Operation of 3‑axis vertical mills; ensure correct fixturing per TWID; load NC programs, adjust offset tables, maintain and replace cutting tools, conduct FAIs; electronically document in‑process data to maintain QA and production system requirements; measure and record QA data (dimensions, serial numbers, etc.); perform measuring equipment calibration checks.
- Horizontal Machining Operations – Operation of horizontal mills; ensure correct fixturing per TWID; load NC programs, adjust offset tables, maintain and replace cutting tools, conduct FAIs; electronically document in‑process data; measure and record QA data; perform measuring equipment calibration checks.
- Machine Setup – Operate material handling equipment including hoists, cranes, tow motors, etc.; read and understand detailed prints and work instructions; use indicators, micrometers, calipers to accurately sweep in fixturing; operate Fanuc/Siemens controls.
- Education:
High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in machine technology preferred or equivalent experience with CNC machines and other processing equipment. - Experience:
2‑4 years in relevant experience. - Technical skills: use calipers, depth gages, micrometers, fabricated gaging equipment; utilize tool setting equipment and computers; access, use, control and data collection software; track orders; maintain traceability; move material to enable efficient production flow.
- Communication: good communication with associates, supervision/engineering, and management.
- Teamwork & training: work in teams for daily production and improvement opportunities; experienced associates assist in training new recruits.
- 6S & housekeeping duties to maintain a safe, clean, efficient work environment.
- Physical requirements:
standing for extended periods, walking, bending, stooping, climbing, repetitive lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing heavily laden carts.
