Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor of Parker Meggitt Danville, Kentucky Distribution Center (120 Corporate Drive), this position is responsible for day‑to‑day assembly of component pieces into aircraft wheels and brakes. With appropriate training, the individual will perform functional testing of finished assemblies and prepare product for shipping to customers. The role also includes participation in continuous improvement activities daily and on project teams.

Responsible for inspecting, cleaning and assembling aerospace components into final assembly and performing required testing necessary for final product acceptance. The individual will read blueprints, specifications, and work instructions and perform mechanical assembly processes.

• Obtain the proper work instructions for assigned jobs and interact with production planning personnel as required.
• Fill out documentation necessary to satisfy all MABS Kentucky government and customer requirements.
• Inspect product and complete documentation as necessary, whether manual or through computer transactions.

• Operate hydraulic test equipment after appropriate training.
• Use power hand tools and operate auxiliary machine tools as required.

• Work in a safe manner and observe all company procedures regarding environmental, health, and safety matters.

• Proficient in operating CNC milling machines to create precision components.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings to set up and adjust tooling on production lines.
• Use hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators for precise measurements.
• Maintain and perform minor repairs on manufacturing equipment.
• Perform frequent heavy lifting, walk throughout the workday, and attend consistently and punctually. Variable schedules and additional hours may be required.

• Skilled at routine mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly operations.
• Operate a variety of hand tools and machinery.
• Read and interpret company documents such as safety rules, operating/manufacturing instructions, policies and procedures.
• Good manual dexterity required to work with small parts.
• Recognize and solve typical problems in own work area; evaluate and select solutions from established options.
• Effective oral, written and interpersonal skills.

Education: High school diploma or GED. Secondary certificate or training preferred.

Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships, or equivalent experience in related field is a plus.

Minimum of two years in a manufacturing environment. Must read and interpret blueprints, possess necessary mathematical skills for discreet part manufacturing, and follow written work instructions.
