Merchandise Manager

• Oversee the receiving, unpacking, and organization of new stock to ensure items are quickly and efficiently placed on the sales floor.
• Manage the setup and maintenance of displays for specific store sections, ensuring signage is accurate and promotions are properly highlighted.
• Manage the entire process of opening or closing the store, including securing cash, locking doors, setting alarms, and ensuring everything is in place for a smooth daily operation.
• Act as Manager on Duty when needed, taking full responsibility for store operations, staff management, customer service, and addressing any urgent issues.
• Help oversee the daily activities of all store associates, ensuring they are performing their duties effectively and providing excellent customer service.
• Support the onboarding and ongoing training of associates, helping them learn store policies, product knowledge, and operational procedures.
• Drive store sales and control expenses by actively seeking ways to boost sales through merchandising, staff performance, and customer service.
• Execute the market plan by arranging products and signage according to corporate guidelines.
• Ensure the execution of the company Inventory Integrity process.

• High School graduate or equivalent; college experience preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of management experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask.
• Creative thinking.
• Ability to maintain composure under pressure.

• Operate cash register frequently.
• Move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and place/remove merchandise up to a height of 5‑10 feet.
• Ascend and descend ladders to retrieve and put away stock.
• Kneel, bend, twist, and stoop in the stock room and on the sales floor, including handling merchandise up to 5‑10 feet high.
• Communicate with customers by telephone and face‑to‑face and with managers and coworkers, exchanging accurate information.
• Assist customers across the sales floor and retrieve/put away merchandise from the stock room.
• Work a flexible schedule (day, evening, weekend, overnight shifts) and travel as required.
• Interpret email and print instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures.
• Remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time.
