C. Deck & Sons, a division of TheH&K Group, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Mill Machine Operator to become a part of our team. This position entails the operation of asphalt milling equipment in order to achieve daily production goals on road construction projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs all work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policies
• Operates the milling machine on road construction projects
• May perform other related duties such as shovel work, setting string line, adding or removing screed extensions
• Ensures equipment is safely and securely parked and stored
• Maintains equipment by greasing properly and checking fluids daily (oils, coolant, fuel level) and keeping clean and free of debris
• Performs daily checks on equipment to ensure proper operating condition
• Notifies shop foreman of any requirements for maintenance or repairs
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills, Education, and Experience

• 2 years of experience with milling machines on highway road construction projects
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret safety signs, manuals, and documents relevant to the job and equipment in use
  • Ability to convey safety and operational information with supervisor and crew
• Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
• Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)

Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience

• 4+ years of expevience with milling machines on highway road construction projects
