Job Summary
Chaplain/Certified Educator Candidate recruits excellent students to participate in all levels of Clinical Pastoral Education. While the CEC is completing their own educational program, they conduct didactics, IPR, individual supervision, verbatim seminars and write evaluations for CPE students as assigned. Assist with administrative functions related to the CPE program. Follows the Standards of ACPE and ensures the educational program meets Accreditation Standards.
Creatively networks throughout the hospital system to promote and advance new CPE Programs.
- Provide supervision and instruction of Clinical Pastoral Education students as assigned.
- In conjunction with the Sr. Director, develop and evaluate CPE curriculum that provides high quality educational opportunities for students and excellent spiritual care for patients, families and staff.
- Provide spiritual support for patients, families, and staff as part of Chaplain duties.
- Provide consultation, counsel, and support to other team members as appropriate.
- Attend interdisciplinary team conferences, support meetings, and other meetings as appropriate.
- Consult with patient or family to obtain the patient’s clergy of choice and advise them on admission.
- Document all visits and phone calls in the electronic medical record within an appropriate time frame.
- ACPE Certification as a Certified Educator Candidate at any level
- M. Div. or equivalent
- Five years Chaplaincy experience in a medical setting
- Ordination or commissioning by a recognized faith group
- Ecclesiastical endorsement from a recognized faith group or denomination
- Board Certification from APC, NACC, NAJC preferred
Master s Degree (Required)
Experience- Minimum of 1 year managerial/supervisory (Required)
- Minimum of 5 years related work experience (Required)
Board Certified Chaplain - Association of Professional Chaplains
