- Assignment Type: Travel Contract (Travel Respiratory Therapist / RRT)
- Start Date: April 13, 2026
- End Date: July 12, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12‑hour night shifts (Night Shift RRT)
- Hours per Week: 36 hours (3 shifts/week)
- Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1830‑$1970/week
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist credential (RRT)
- Minimum 1 year recent hospital‑based respiratory therapy experience (acute care/ICU preferred)
- Experience with mechanical ventilation, ventilator management, and ventilator troubleshooting (conventional and high‑frequency)
- Competence in arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and analysis
- Strong communication, documentation, and patient education skills
- Ability to work night shifts, including every other weekend and holiday
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and regulatory compliance (including HIPAA)
- State licensure/certification as required for travel assignments (per facility/state policy)
- Perform and document comprehensive respiratory assessments and care plans for hospitalized patients
- Administer therapeutic modalities: aerosolized medications, secretion management, pulmonary volume expansion, and oxygen therapy
- Initiate, manage, and wean mechanical ventilators per protocol; manage high‑frequency ventilation when indicated
- Assist with artificial airway care, endotracheal tube and tracheostomy management, and acute airway interventions
- Provide patient and family education on disease management, home oxygen, and respiratory equipment
- Collect and process arterial blood gas (ABG) samples and interpret results to guide therapy
- Set up and monitor non‑invasive monitoring equipment (ETCO₂ monitors, pulse oximetry, capnography)
- Assist with intra‑hospital transport of ventilated and critically ill patients
- Support discharge planning related to respiratory durable medical equipment (DME) and outpatient needs
- Assist with fiber optic bronchoscopy procedures and invasive monitoring line placement as requested
- Adhere to all regulatory, safety, and institutional standards of care
- Serve as preceptor for new staff and clinical students; function as Shift Coordinator (charge) after one year, as designated
Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
