The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office is seeking driven, high-performing attorneys to serve as Assistant District Attorneys. This position offers immediate, hands-on courtroom experience and the opportunity to handle meaningful cases from inception through resolution. Assistant District Attorneys are entrusted with significant responsibility early in their careers and are expected to exercise sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion in the pursuit of justice.
This role is fast-paced, demanding, and ideal for attorneys who thrive in court, value public service, and want to develop strong trial skills while making a tangible impact in the community.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Serve as the primary prosecutor on assigned criminal cases
- Work directly with law enforcement to prepare search warrants, affidavits, and court orders
- Draft, litigate, and respond to substantive pretrial motions
- Handle hearings in Magisterial District Courts and the Court of Common Pleas
- Conduct bench and jury trials independently
- Make principled, well-reasoned sentencing recommendations to the court
- Communicate professionally with victims, witnesses, police officers, and members of the public

- Juris Doctor degree and admission to the Pennsylvania Bar (or eligibility for admission)
- Prior prosecutorial or trial experience preferred, but not required
- Demonstrated work ethic, strong judgment, and professionalism
- Excellent legal writing, oral advocacy, and courtroom presence
- Ability to manage a substantial caseload while maintaining attention to detail
- Commitment to ethical prosecution and public service
- Valid driver’s license
